Thanksgiving in Colorado

Finally, we all made it to Colorado! It was Elia's first time and Evan's second time (the first time he was only 6 months old!).

Enfin, on est alles tous au Colorado! C'etait la premiere fois pour Elia et la deuxieme fois pour Evan (sa premiere fois, il n'avait que 6 mois!).

But Evan was afraid of the giant beetle. Yes, that's a beetle, folks.

Evan--awesome big brother!

I've been working on training Evan for the past 18 months--how to take care of his sister. While he has trouble with poopy diapers, he finally has mastered the feedings. Next is putting her in the carseat. He is a bit too short to drive himself and Elia to school, but maybe next year... Har har. Actually he just offered to feed her and I said "OK".

J'entraine Evan pendant les dernieres 18 mois--comment s'occuper de sa soeur. Bien que il a du mal avec les couches plein de caca, il a maitrise les repas. Prochaine etape: mettre Elia dans le siege auto. Evan est un peu trop petit encore pour conduire a la creche, peut-etre l'annee prochaine. Ha ha. En fait, il m'a demande s'il pouvait donne a manger a Elia et j'ai dit "OK".

Puis--un evenement tres rare: Papa lit un livre...en anglais! C'etait "The Tortoise and the Hare" (Il m'a interdit de mettre les 2 minutes de video que j'ai prise, mais voila une petite partie...)

Run for Charity

This morning I did a 6k run for the Give Light Foundation. They said it was a 5k, but I was running non-stop, and I know my pace very well, and so I'm guessing it was about 6k. I did it with Elia in the baby jogger. It was a very warm morning, and everyone was very friendly, and the baked goodies at the end of race were amazing! Elia slept almost the entire time... BUT still took a 2-hour nap this afternoon... WOOHOO!

Thanks to a coworker who was also there, I have some photos...I had brought my camera but forgot to put the SD card in it. Yup...I do that a lot.

Ce matin j'ai fait une course de 6 km pour le Give Light Foundation. Ils ont dit que c'etait 5 km, mais je courrais sans arret, et je connais ma vitesse tres bien, alors je pense que c'etait vers 6 km. Je l'ai faite avec Elia, dans la poussette de course. Il faisait assez chaud, tout le monde etait gentil, et les patisseries a la fin etaient merveilleux! Elia a dormi presque toute la course...MAIS elle a quand meme fait une sieste de 2 heures cet apres-midi... WOOHOO!

Grace a un collegue qui etait la aussi, j'ai quelques photos. J'avais emmene mon appareil mais j'ai oublie la carte memoire. Oui...je le fait assez souvent.

Happy Diwali!

This past weekend, it was Diwali, an Indian festival ("the festival of lights"). We went to our friends' party, where both Evan and Maman performed in group dances. The videos will be here soon... Meanwhile, here are some photos...

Le week-end dernier, c'etait "Diwali", une fete indienne (la fete des lumieres). On est alles a une fete de nos copains, ou Evan et Maman ont fait un spectacle de danses. Les videos seront ici bientot... En attendant, voila des photos...
Um...I think Evan and I stood out a bit from our dance groups....(the "white sheep" as I called us)
Euh... Je crois qu'Evan et moi, on etait un peu different...(les "moutons blanches" comme je disais)
By the way, I've been practicing for over month, a couple times (or more) a week, for this dance. It was quite difficult... Evan...well, he was crying because the other kids were going to perform and he wasn't a part of it. So another parent said, "Oh, just let him stand next to them, it's OK." So he went...and he actually danced! There was an adult leading them, and he just mimicked her moves and the others. So, yes, he was kind of behind, but not bad at all for the first time doing the dance!

Aussi, moi, ca fait plus qu'un mois que je m'entraine, avec les 7 autres, pour cette dance (2 fois ou plus par semaine). C'etait assez dur... Evan, lui...il pleurait parce qu'il voulait dansait avec les autres, mais il n'avait pas du tout faire les entrainements. Un parent m'a dit, "Oh, il peut juste se mettre a cote, ce n'est pas grave." Alors il est alle avec eux...et il a danse! Il y avait une maman qui leur montrait comment faire, alors il la regardait, il la suivait. Oui, il etait un peu en retard, mais pas mal pour sa premiere fois!
