Shared room

This weekend we had some fun, and we also worked hard. Saturday there was a family Carnaval (as in, Brazilian carnaval) in Berkeley. I took Evan with a friend and her son, and we made headpieces, watched kids perform (samba, percussion), then we danced like crazy. OK, so maybe the boys were a tad more interested in banging on the huge drums in the corner...but I got Evan to dance quite a bit (he was even inspired to do some break dancing on the floor).

Ce weekend on s'est bien amuse, et on a travaille beaucoup. Samedi il y avait une fete de carnaval (brazilien) a Berkeley. J'ai emmene Evan, avec une copine et son fils, et on a fait des chapeaux, regarde les enfants faire des spectacles (samba, percussions), puis on a danse comme des fous. D'accord, c'est vrai que les garcons etaient un peu plus interesses par les gros tambours au coin de la salle (qu'ils tapaient tres fort) mais enfin Evan a danse avec moi assez beaucoup (il etait meme inspire de faire du 'break dancing' par terre).
Then Sunday--time to get to work! I cleaned out Evan's closet, choosing lots of toys to donate, and moved ALL of Elia's clothes and things to the newly made empty space. Then I went for a run and ran up and down bleachers. Then, back to work: JR and I moved the queen bed to Elia's old room, and Elia's crib to Evan's room (this must be done through the windows since the crib does not fit through the door). Then we put the twin mattress in Evan's/Elia's room, for Evan (on the floor for now). When it was done the kids were ecstatic, jumping and cuddling and playing on the twin bed like crazy for about 20 minutes.

Puis dimanche--au travail! J'ai range le placard d'Evan, on a mis pleins de jouets a cote pour donner, puis j'ai mis toutes les affaires d'Elia dans ce placard. Puis j'ai couru. Puis, au travail encore: JR et moi avons mit le grand lit dans l'ancienne chambre d'Elia, le lit d'Elia dans la chambre d'Evan (il faut le faire par la fenetre!). Puis on a mit le petit matelat d'Evan dans sa chambre (par terre, juste pour le moment). Quand c'etait fini, les enfants etaient ravis, ils sautaient, jouaient, et faisaient des calins sur le lit d'Evan pendant 20 minutes.
