I made this quiz myself for Elaine's bachelorette party. Put 'true' or 'false'... Don't cheat by using the internet!
1. Dom Pérignon invented champagne.
2. Dom Pérignon was originally charged by his superiors at the Abbey of Hautvillers to get rid of the bubbles in the champagne since the bubbles were seen as a defect, mysteriously appearing during the champagne-making process.
3. As sparkling wine production increased in the early 1700s, cellar workers would have to wear heavy iron masks that resembled a baseball catcher's mask to prevent injury from spontaneously bursting bottles.
4. The mysterious circumstance surrounding the then unknown process of fermentation and carbonic gas caused some critics to call the sparkling creations "The Devil's Wine".
5. In the 19th century, Champagne producers made a concentrated effort to market their wine to women by decorating the labels with elaborate flowering patterns and other designs seen as distinctly feminine.
6. References to his "blind tasting of wine" have led to the common misconception that Dom Pérignon was blind.
7. It was recorded that when Dom Pérignon first tasted champagne, he said, “Come quickly, I am drinking the stars!"
8. To be dramatic and ceremonious, the French sometimes use a large knife or “saber” to hack off the top of the bottle of champagne.
9. While doing the above, it is a tradition for the French person to shout, “Guillotine!”
10. In 2007, a scientific study showed moderate consumptions of champagne may help the brain cope with Alzheimer's disease.
11. In terms of champagne etiquette: contrary to what is often shown in film and television, it is very impolite to allow the cork to make a loud "pop" sound.

Premiers Mots
Alors...3 premiers mots: Papa, Maman, Nina....
Evan has been saying "Papa" for a while now, but the other day he said "Maman" (Mommy in French) truly, for the first time. Now he says "Maman" quite a bit... And this morning, we were walking in the backyard and Evan was chasing Nina (our cat), I said "Nina" and he repeated "Nina!"
So...first 3 words: Papa, Maman, Nina... And he says lots of things we don't understand too: babadadoblehpadoh! (Actually, Evan has his own language so I understand some "words". For example, "dada!" means he wants something, "nyanya" means he's tired.)

Evan's hair--to cut or not to cut?
I am just curious...who thinks I should cut Evan's hair and who thinks I should let it go? As you can see from the photos, it's getting rather long...

Premieres tomates, premier doudou!
First tomatoes, first 'doudou' (favorite cuddly animal/toy)
